Suspected Serial Killer’s Disturbing Search History Unveiled in Court

In a recent court filing, prosecutors revealed the shocking search history allegedly found on the devices of suspected serial killer Rex Heuermann. Attorney Michael Brown, representing Heuermann, addressed the disturbing findings during a press conference. The search history included terms such as “torture redhead porn,” “girl with face beat up,” “chubby 10 year old girl crying,” and “Asian twink tied up,” along with more than 200 searches related to other known serial killers and the infamous Gilgo Beach case.

Heuermann is currently accused of killing four women whose remains were discovered along Ocean Parkway in 2010. The victims include Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes. Prosecutors allege that Heuermann made “thousands of searches related to sex workers, sadistic, torture-related pornography, and child pornography.”

Brown defended his client by urging people to reflect on their own internet search history, emphasizing how one’s searches do not necessarily indicate guilt. He also downplayed the significance of new DNA evidence presented by the prosecutors, highlighting that Heuermann had been under surveillance for a year and a half prior to his arrest.

The case gained attention in 2010 after a haunting 911 call from Shannan Gilbert led to the discovery of 11 bodies, including the four victims Heuermann is accused of killing. Although investigators initially deemed Gilbert’s death an accident, doubts persist among Brown and the lawyer representing her family, John Ray.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced that the investigations into the other deaths would continue, indicating that the task force was actively looking into those cases. Heuermann currently faces three counts of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.

Heuermann, a former resident of Massapequa Park, New York, was described by neighbors as a quiet businessman with a background in architecture. He is scheduled to appear in court again on February 6.
