Missouri Woman Reported Missing Found Dead Near Farm

The body of Donna Eye, a 44-year-old Missouri woman who was reported missing on January 11, has been found near a farm less than a half-mile south of state Route 8. Authorities received a search warrant for the farm after a resident reported finding a body on the adjoining property. Eye’s family member has identified the body as hers.

According to Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen, Eye had been in a hospital but decided to leave on January 8. A sheriff’s deputy picked her up to take her home, and Eye provided her address but asked to be let out on Shirley School Road, which the deputy believed to be her brother’s driveway. However, Eye’s brother actually lives a mile away from where she was dropped off.

Eye’s brother has revealed that she had mental health issues and a medical condition that sometimes limited her ability to walk. It is unclear why a missing person’s report was not filed until three days after Eye exited the deputy’s vehicle.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Eye’s death.
