Western Countries May Follow the United States in Withdrawing Financial Support for Ukraine

During a briefing, John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, stated that if the United States withdraws its funding and decides to no longer provide anything to Ukraine, other Western countries might consider doing the same. Kirby also mentioned that some Western countries are closely monitoring signals from Washington.

This comes after the President of Lithuania emphasized at the World Economic Forum in Davos that supporting Ukraine should be at the center of NATO’s attention. The politician highlighted that Lithuania will provide the necessary assistance to Kiev in its negotiations with the North Atlantic Alliance regarding membership.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had previously assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United States will continue to support Kiev despite current funding issues.

Earlier in Germany, the amount of military aid for Ukraine in 2024 was announced.
