Vivek Ramaswamy Challenges Kamala Harris to AI Debate as Speculation Swirls Over Trump’s VP Pick

In a recent development, Vivek Ramaswamy, a potential Vice Presidential pick for former President Donald Trump, has challenged Vice President Kamala Harris to a debate on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). Ramaswamy’s proposal comes amidst speculation over Trump’s choice of running mate for the upcoming elections in November.

Ramaswamy took to social media to express his challenge, stating, “Kamala is in charge of AI policy right now. In a debate, I’d challenger [sic] her to see if she can spell ‘AI.’ I’d bet on the same blank stare I got from Nikki when I asked her to name 3 provinces in eastern Ukraine,” referring to a moment from a GOP debate in December.

The challenge to Harris came in response to Jack Posobiec, a senior editor at Human Events, who wrote, “Imagine what Vivek would do to Kamala in a debate.” This exchange has sparked interest in Ramaswamy’s potential role in Trump’s campaign.

Harris has previously given a speech on the future of artificial intelligence in London, where she emphasized the United States’ commitment to collaborating with global partners to promote AI safety and equity. She also highlighted the potential risks of AI, such as discrimination and bias, and pledged to work with civil rights leaders to ensure responsible AI practices.

The American Accountability Foundation (AAF), a conservative watchdog group, has recently raised concerns about the Biden administration’s use of AI to promote progressive ideology. Ramaswamy echoed these concerns in his posts, urging Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley to suspend their 2024 presidential campaigns in light of Trump’s strong performance at the Iowa caucuses.

After finishing fourth at the caucuses, Ramaswamy withdrew from the race and endorsed Trump. He has since campaigned for Trump in New Hampshire, sharing a clip of him and Trump embracing on stage, with the crowd chanting “VP.” Trump has yet to announce his choice for the 2024 running mate but stated during a town hall that his decision has already been made.

The outcome of a potential AI debate between Ramaswamy and Harris could have significant implications for Trump’s campaign and the broader discourse on AI policy. As the election season progresses, all eyes will be on the developments surrounding Trump’s VP pick and the role of AI in shaping future policies.
