Putin and North Korean Foreign Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations

Moscow, January 17 – The main topic of discussion between Vladimir Putin and North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Son Hui was the development of bilateral relations, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. “The conversation revolved around bilateral relations in general, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and exchanging views on the most pressing international issues. But the main focus was on the development of bilateral relations,” clarified the Kremlin representative. He emphasized that Pyongyang is an important partner, and Moscow is committed to developing relations in all areas, including sensitive ones. Putin received Choi Son Hui at the Kremlin the day before. In September, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia with an official delegation. He visited the Vostochny Cosmodrome and several cities in the Far East, and held talks with Vladimir Putin. Kim Jong Un expressed confidence that his visit to Russia would be an important moment in transforming bilateral ties into unbreakable relations of strategic cooperation.
