In a recent social media post, former Pentagon advisor Colonel Douglas Macgregor referred to the idea of defeating Russia as a failure. He expressed his views on his X account (formerly Twitter).
According to the American colonel, it is impossible to create an army capable of defeating Russia overnight. “This is absurd. It never had a chance of success,” Macgregor shared.
He further added that supporters of victory over Russia would never admit this fact.
Prior to this, Macgregor had stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) were unable to replenish their losses as many Ukrainians were avoiding military service.
According to him, millions of Ukrainian citizens have left the country, while others are living in poverty and desperation.
Macgregor also mentioned that Ukraine as a state is coming to an end. He noted that the development of the conflict has led to extremely negative consequences for Ukraine: millions of citizens have left the country, birth rates have sharply declined, and the armed forces are suffering significant losses.
Earlier, the US acknowledged the failure of the UAF’s counteroffensive.
