Jaish al-Adl, also known as the “Army of Justice,” has been responsible for launching deadly attacks against Iranian border guards since 2013, including bombings and kidnappings. The bases targeted in this attack were reportedly located in Balochistan province, according to Iran’s Nournews, which is affiliated with the country’s top security body.
The relationship between Iran and Pakistan has been strained, with both countries frequently accusing each other of allowing armed groups to operate from their respective territories.
