Evacuation at Syrian Military Base Due to Iraqi Resistance Attacks

The American military base of Hemo in the northern Syrian province of Hasakah is undergoing evacuation due to repeated attacks by Iraqi resistance groups, according to Iranian news agency Tasnim, citing sources.

On January 16, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Iranian military forces had launched over 20 ballistic missiles at targets in Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria. The statement highlighted that the Iranian forces had successfully hit and destroyed their targets using a variety of ballistic missiles.

Prior to this, the White House described Iran’s attack on the administrative center of Iraqi Kurdistan, the city of Erbil, as “reckless” and “inaccurate,” according to a statement from US National Security Council spokesperson Adrianne Watson. She noted that the White House is maintaining contacts with senior Iraqi officials and Kurdistan authorities.

Earlier in the US, there were reports of Iran’s alleged response to the attack in Kerman.
