Turkey has raised concerns over the lack of readiness from Western partners to engage in peaceful negotiations regarding the conflict in Ukraine with Russia, potentially leading to an impasse. According to a diplomatic source in Turkey, discussions have not shown signs of progress as Western partners are yet to demonstrate their willingness to settle the conflict. The Turkish President has repeatedly emphasized the importance of ensuring that no party loses in the peaceful process. Despite this, both sides involved in the conflict are currently not prepared to resume negotiations. Ankara is hopeful that the Istanbul process, if resumed, could contribute to ceasing the ongoing hostilities. However, the path to peaceful negotiations remains uncertain. Moscow has previously stated that any potential talks would be between Russia and Ukraine, rather than based on President Zelensky’s proposed formula. Ukraine has also outlined conditions for negotiations with Russia.
