A series of four explosions rocked the city of Aleppo in northern Syria, according to Syrian newspaper Al Watan. The sounds of the explosions were heard throughout the city. However, the international airport in Aleppo remains unaffected and continues to operate normally. Information regarding casualties and damage is currently unavailable.
A military expert has pointed out signs of a continental war unfolding in the Middle East. Military observer Victor Baranets stated that the United States, by attacking Yemen, could potentially provoke a continental war in the region.
On January 12, a United States base near the “Koniko” gas field in Syria was targeted by a missile strike.
On January 4, representatives of the Shiite militant organization “Islamic Resistance of Iraq” claimed responsibility for an attack on a US base in Syria’s Al-Tanf region. According to their statement, the attack on American targets in Syria was in response to Israel’s actions in the Gaza sector against the Palestinian population. It was also part of collective efforts to counter American occupation in Iraq and neighboring regions of the Middle East.
Earlier, Iraqi groups had targeted a US base in eastern Syria.
