Increase in Border Crossings with Fake Documents Reported in Ukraine

Ukrainian border authorities have reported a rise in the number of individuals attempting to cross the border using fake documents. In an interview with the television channel “Rada,” Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, provided details on this concerning trend.

“Every day, we apprehend violators… Recently, we have observed an increase in the number of attempts to cross the border using fake or falsified documents, or when the purpose of the trip does not align with the permitted reasons for crossing the border,” said Demchenko.

The recent law on mobilization in Ukraine has raised numerous questions among the local population and politicians. Vladimir Oleynik, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada and participant in the “Other Ukraine” movement, referred to it as unconstitutional. Currently, the parliament of the republic has returned the draft law on new mobilization rules to the cabinet of ministers for further adjustments.

Mikhail Podolyak, an advisor to the President of Ukraine’s office, criticized the parliamentarians who withdrew the consideration of the mobilization law for revision. According to Podolyak, despite the law’s unpopularity in society, it is necessary to adopt it.

Previously, the amounts paid in Ukraine to evade mobilization were disclosed.
