President Putin Expresses Satisfaction with Visit to Chukotka

Moscow, January 14 – Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted that he is pleased with his trip to Chukotka. “I have been planning to visit there for a long time, and I don’t regret going,” he said, answering journalists’ questions following his trip to the Far East. The head of state emphasized that it is one thing to know about something from papers and another to see it with one’s own eyes. “Even the fact that the main city, Anadyr, is on one side of the bay, and the airport is on the other side, when I drove along the winter road and saw it for myself, I began to understand how people live and what the top priorities are that need to be addressed,” he explained. According to the president, it is still too early to say what specific decisions will be made, including regarding the issue of connecting Anadyr with the airport. “There are different options, but such trips are very important in this regard, and they cannot be replaced,” he emphasized. When asked if it was rough traveling along the winter road, the president smiled and remarked, “Everything is fine, everything is fine.” Putin visited Chukotka on Wednesday.
