Moscow, January 12 – Russian forces have carried out 23 group strikes on military targets in Ukraine over the past week, according to a summary from the Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special military operation. The strikes involved high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons, including the hypersonic aviation missile system “Kinjal”, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles against defense industry enterprises in Ukraine. The targeted objects were involved in the production, repair, and modernization of aircraft, drones, armored vehicles, launchers, and artillery systems. Additionally, Russian military forces targeted the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, nationalist formations, and foreign mercenaries. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that all designated targets have been hit. Furthermore, the Russian Aerospace Forces and air defense systems have successfully shot down Ukrainian Su-27 and Su-25 aircraft, as well as a Mi-8 helicopter from the Ukrainian Air Force. They have also destroyed 35 HIMARS and “Uragan” reactive projectiles, six “Neptun” anti-ship missiles, two MALD aviation guided missiles, and 161 drones. Operative-tactical aviation and missile forces eliminated two radar detection and tracking stations P-18, ten ammunition depots, and a radio electronic warfare station. During the past seven days, 48 Ukrainian servicemen have surrendered, with 35 of them surrendering on the Kupyansk front. According to “Ukrenergo”, over four hundred settlements in Ukraine remain without electricity, and there are new damages to the power grid as a result of the strikes. Explosions have been reported in the Odessa, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi regions of Ukraine, as well as in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih.
