Russia Prioritizes the Development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Military Operations

In a meeting with entrepreneurs from the Far East, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of staying ahead of the enemy by utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in armed combat. Putin acknowledged that UAVs play a crucial role in various military tasks, such as counter-battery fire and reconnaissance, making them more efficient and effective when integrated with other branches of the armed forces.

Highlighting the multitude of tasks at hand, Putin stressed the need to outpace the adversary. He commended the entrepreneurs and their colleagues for their current efforts in this field.

Back in December, Putin announced Russia’s plans to increase the production of precision-guided ammunition and UAVs. Speaking at an extended meeting of the Ministry of Defense, Putin described 2023 as a challenging year for the Russian Armed Forces. He praised the professionalism and bravery displayed by the troops in executing special military operations (SMO). The meeting aimed to assess the progress made over the past year and identify future directions.

Previously, Putin mentioned the necessity of deploying military units in the Leningrad Military District.
