Newly released court documents in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein case have unveiled shocking allegations against prominent individuals accused of sex trafficking. The documents, which were part of a 2015 lawsuit between Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, include redacted names that have now been revealed. These names include former Democratic governor Bill Richardson, computer scientist Marvin Minsky, and founder of Limited Brands, Les Wexner.
According to the unsealed 223-page filing, Giuffre accused Richardson, Minsky, and Wexner of participating in the sex trafficking of minors. Richardson, who served as the governor of New Mexico and former President Clinton’s ambassador to the United Nations, passed away in September. Minsky, a renowned computer scientist at MIT, died in 2016. Wexner, who has not been charged with a crime, previously stated that he severed ties with Epstein in 2007.
Jean-Luc Brunel, who died in a French jail while awaiting trial on his own sex trafficking charges, and Glenn Dubin were also named in the latest court filings. Dubin had previously denied the allegations against him. Former President Bill Clinton was mentioned in the deposition, with Giuffre claiming he would have witnessed the sexual abuse of minors during his association with Epstein. Clinton has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
Giuffre also alleged that she was paid $15,000 to have sex with British Prince Andrew and later received $160,000 for a photo showing them together. Prince Andrew has faced scrutiny in connection to the Epstein case, but has also denied any involvement in illegal activities.
The unsealed documents, which include depositions from Maxwell, Giuffre, and Epstein accuser Sarah Ransome, shed light on the alleged activities of Epstein’s network. Maxwell, who has been sentenced to 20 years in a separate criminal case, denied knowledge of Brunel’s alleged activities despite appearing in photographs with him on Epstein’s plane and private island.
The release of these documents has raised concerns about the extent of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking operation and the involvement of high-profile figures. U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered the names to be unsealed, allowing a two-week window for individuals to appeal the release of their identities. The court has yet to decide on whether two individuals, referred to as Jane Does, should have their identities withheld due to safety concerns.
The Epstein case has long been a subject of public interest and speculation, with his death in federal custody in 2019 further fueling conspiracy theories. A Justice Department investigation found negligence on the part of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, accusing them of allowing Epstein to commit suicide and denying justice to his numerous victims.
