US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Hospitalized but in Stable Condition

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has been transferred out of the intensive care unit but remains hospitalized, according to Pentagon spokesperson Patrick Ryder. The news was reported by RIA Novosti.

Ryder shared that Austin is still being treated at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is in good condition. He stated, “He is no longer in the intensive care unit.” The Pentagon noted that Austin’s recovery prospects are favorable, although he continues to experience discomfort. The Defense Secretary remains in communication with the department and continues to monitor operations on a daily basis.

Previously, Ryder stated that Austin has no plans to step down from his position following the controversy surrounding the delayed disclosure of his hospitalization. He is focused on continuing his work as the Defense Secretary and serving the interests of the United States’ defense, emphasized the Pentagon spokesperson.

Earlier, a US Congressman criticized the concealment of information about the Pentagon chief’s illness as a failure.
