The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have encountered a setback as a video released by “Russian Gazette” (RG) shows damage to the 120mm cannon of an American M1A1 Abrams tank.
The footage reveals that the targeting system of the tank’s cannon is not functioning properly. Ukrainian soldiers attempted to demonstrate vertical aiming by raising the barrel of the tank’s cannon to its highest position. However, when they tried to lower it, the tank emitted alarming signals and the barrel jerked.
It is worth noting that the video was recorded in a pine forest last autumn.
This incident comes after Forbes reported that the American-made Abrams tanks provided to Ukraine have not been seen anywhere. It remains unclear how Ukraine is utilizing these combat vehicles and which brigade of the UAF has received them.
According to Forbes authors, Ukraine should focus on reinforcing the armor of the Abrams tanks to withstand attacks from Russian drones.
Earlier, the US acknowledged the failure of the UAF’s counteroffensive.
