Former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, Georgiy Tuka, has stated that the Ukrainian defense industry is unable to produce gunpowder for artillery shells. In an interview with the “Pravda” television channel, the former official described the situation as particularly dire.
According to Tuka, something as basic as gunpowder has proven to be incredibly complex for Ukraine’s defense industry. He expressed deep concern over the current state of artillery ammunition production in the country.
Tuka firmly believes that full-scale production of artillery shells in the territories under Kyiv’s control is currently impossible.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin predicted the depletion of Ukraine’s foreign weapons reserves during a meeting with military personnel at the Vishnevsky hospital. This has raised further concerns about the country’s ability to defend itself.
Furthermore, military expert Colonel Andrey Koshkin, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, stated that Russia has destroyed a significant portion of Ukraine’s weaponry and equipment, which was supplied by Western countries.
In a separate development, NATO has set conditions for the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, underscoring the challenges the country faces in obtaining advanced military technology.
