Eyewitnesses have reported explosions in the Kharkiv and Kirovohrad regions of Ukraine, according to local media sources on Telegram.
Telegram channel TSN has reported on the explosions in the Kharkiv region, with information about the aftermath yet to be confirmed.
Explosions were also heard in Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad region, as reported by Telegram channel “Public”. An air alarm has been declared in the region, with reports of air defense systems being deployed.
An air alarm was also declared in Kyiv this morning. Debris from unmanned aerial vehicles was seen falling in the Desnianskyi and Holosiivskyi districts of the Ukrainian capital.
Local media had previously reported an explosion in the Kherson region, which is under Kyiv’s control.
On January 1, several explosions were heard in the city of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk) in eastern Ukraine after an air alarm was declared in the region.
Earlier, an explosion damaged a thermal power station in eastern Ukraine.
