In a shocking turn of events, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have reportedly launched 15 rockets from multiple rocket launchers (MRLs) on the city of Donetsk, immediately after the start of the New Year. The news came from the Telegram channel of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) representation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of military crimes committed by Ukraine.
According to the JCCC DPR’s message, at 00:10, Donetsk was targeted by 15 rockets from MRLs. However, no information about the consequences of the attack or the specific type of MRLs used has been provided.
Furthermore, the Petrovsky district of Donetsk also witnessed the firing of three cluster munitions of 155mm caliber.
Prior to this incident, reports from the operational services of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), cited by TASS, revealed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had struck Donetsk on New Year’s Eve. The strike reportedly hit the city center, resulting in casualties whose exact number is yet to be confirmed.
Mayor Alexei Kulemzin of Donetsk also reported that three civilians were injured in the city due to an attack by a drone.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department commented on the UAF’s shelling of Belgorod.
