True Crime Thrillers on Fox Nation: A Deep Dive into Nation-Gripping Cases

The true crime genre has taken the online streaming world by storm, with filmmakers delving into gripping criminal cases and uncovering new details in infamous mysteries. Fox Nation has released five compelling documentaries in 2023 that are not for the faint of heart. These documentaries promise to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they follow detectives, journalists, and family members who have lived through some of the most enthralling murders and scandals of our time.

One of the documentaries, released in October, focuses on the Moscow Police Department detectives’ process of identifying Bryan Kohberger as the prime suspect in the brutal killing of four Idaho college students. Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin were found fatally stabbed in an off-campus home in November 2022. The investigation led detectives to Kohberger through DNA evidence from the crime scene, which was compared to samples from genealogical testing websites. Kohberger’s arrest in January shed light on the shocking case.

Another three-part series, aired in November, delves into the litany of convictions surrounding Alex Murdaugh. From the murders of his wife and son to allegations of financial fraud, Murdaugh’s story is one of downfall and tragedy. In an exclusive interview, Murdaugh’s only surviving son, Buster Murdaugh, provides never-before-heard prison audio and archival photos and footage, giving viewers a new perspective on this captivating case.

In September, a documentary explores the decades-long investigation that led to the capture of suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann. Heuermann was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. The documentary uncovers the missteps that delayed his capture, including a tip about his pickup truck, burner phones, threats to victims’ families, and DNA evidence from the women’s graves.

Fox Nation also released a documentary in September that features never-before-heard jailhouse conversations between infamous Milwaukee serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer and his father Lionel. The series explores Dahmer’s upbringing and his father’s attempts to understand what led his son to commit heinous crimes. The conversations offer new insights into the mind of a killer.

Lastly, a 16-episode docuseries follows journalist Eric Shawn as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of James “Jimmy” Riddle Hoffa. Hoffa, the legendary Teamsters leader, vanished in 1975 after attempting to regain his position as the head of the union. Shawn’s two-decade-long investigation, inspired by a deathbed confession, uncovers clues that shed light on the truth behind Hoffa’s disappearance.

These true crime documentaries on Fox Nation provide viewers with a captivating look into some of the most gripping criminal cases in recent history. With each episode, viewers are taken on a journey through the investigations, the lives of those involved, and the shocking revelations that unfold.
