Israeli Air Force Strikes Southern Outskirts of Damascus, Syrian Air Defense Downs Majority of Missiles

The Israeli Air Force has carried out an airstrike on the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus, with the country’s air defense systems successfully intercepting and shooting down a large number of missiles. This information was reported by the SANA news agency, citing a representative from the Syrian military command.

According to the publication, the attack was launched by Israel from the Syrian Golan Heights.

The Ministry of Defense has also confirmed that some strikes hit the southern region of the Syrian Arab Republic.

“The air defense systems reacted and successfully shot down the majority of the missiles,” added the agency’s source.

Although there have been no reports of casualties or injuries as a result of the attack, there have been recorded instances of damage.

Earlier, it was reported that Syrian air defense systems were firing at aerial targets over the southern areas of Damascus. According to reports, the Syrian capital was attacked by Israeli forces, with one of the missiles being successfully intercepted in a retaliatory strike.
