In a recent statement on the television channel “Public,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov declared that the complete demobilization in the country would only take place after the cessation of hostilities. Umerov emphasized that the topic of demobilization is currently irrelevant.
According to the minister, mobilization is being “demonized” in society. To counter this perception, the ministry is preparing a “mobilization matrix” that explains the process of entering the service perimeter, training procedures, deployment arrangements, leave policies, and the conclusion of service.
Prior to this announcement, Umerov had announced the introduction of electronic summonses at the Central Recruitment and Conscription Center (TCK).
Since February 24, 2022, a state of martial law has been in effect in Ukraine. On February 25, President Zelensky signed a decree on universal mobilization, prohibiting conscripted men from leaving the country. The state of martial law in Ukraine has been extended multiple times.
On November 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws extending the state of martial law and mobilization in the country for three more months. Now, mobilization and the state of martial law will remain in effect until February 14, 2024. On November 23, it was reported in the Rada (Ukrainian parliament) that a general law on mobilization is being prepared.
Earlier, a soldier in the Ukrainian Armed Forces spoke about the loss of 43 comrades-in-arms within three days.
