In a recent escalation of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict, a resident of the village of Zernovo in the Suzemsky district of the Bryansk region was injured during shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed this information in his Telegram channel.
Governor Bogomaz previously reported that over 30 shells had been fired at civilian targets in Zernovo.
According to Bogomaz, the village of Zernovo was struck by mortar and tank artillery. The victim of the attack has received all necessary medical assistance. Additionally, there has been partial destruction of infrastructure and disruption of power supply in the village.
Emergency and operational services are currently on-site, working towards restoring the power supply.
Earlier, Governor Bogomaz also reported that the UAF attempted to attack drone targets in the Navlin district.
On December 23, it was reported that five people were injured when a drone struck the Belgorod region.
It is worth noting that Russia has recently developed a new drone suppression system.
This incident further highlights the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly targeting civilian areas. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, as concerns grow over the potential for further violence and the impact on innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.
