Russia Thwarts Ukraine’s Fighter Jet Purchase from Foreign Suppliers

The CEO of “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” company, Vladyslav Belbas, has revealed that Russia has disrupted Ukraine’s procurement of fighter jets from abroad. In an interview with Ukrainian publication “Economic Truth,” Belbas expressed his frustration with Russia’s constant interference in Ukraine’s efforts to acquire weapons from foreign suppliers. He cited an incident where Ukraine had negotiated the purchase of fighter jets from a country “on the other side of the planet.”

“We began negotiations for the purchase. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the need for these jets, and the seller was ready. At some point, one of the letters fell into the hands of the Russians. Russian diplomats started using it to exert pressure on local officials,” Belbas explained.

As a result, according to Belbas, the seller refused to do business with Ukraine and terminated the deal.

Prior to this, Alisa Jung, a reporter from the German TV channel ZDF, noted that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were exhausted from combat operations, and Kiev was facing a shortage of military personnel and ammunition.

Earlier, the Russian Armed Forces began deploying upgraded anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, “Pantsir-SM,” in the area of the special military operation (SMO).
