Russia to Add Three Nuclear Submarines to its Navy Fleet

The General Director of the Northern Machine-Building Enterprise, Mikhail Budnichenko, has announced that three Borei-A class nuclear missile submarines will be added to the Russian Navy in the coming years. He revealed this information in an interview with TASS.

Budnichenko, the CEO of Sevmash, emphasized that the Borei-A missile carriers will be delivered to the fleet as part of the state armament program.

In addition to the Borei submarines, the shipyard is also constructing five multipurpose nuclear submarines of the Yasen-M class, including the Arhangelsk, which is in its final stages of completion.

Budnichenko underscored that the tasks set by the state defense order have been fulfilled. The construction of two groups of nuclear submarines, projects Yasen-M and Borei-A, is currently underway at the enterprise.

Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at an extended meeting of the Ministry of Defense, stated that the level of modern strategic nuclear forces in Russia has reached 95%.

Earlier, Russia terminated the agreement on nuclear weapons elimination cooperation with Japan.
