In a recent interview with the newspaper Vzglyad, military correspondent Fedor Gromov commented on reports from Ukrainian media about a series of explosions in Kirovohrad (also known as Kropyvnytskyi). He speculated that the Russian Armed Forces had targeted the Kanatovo airbase, where Su-24 fighter jets capable of carrying Western Storm Shadow missiles are stationed.
Gromov stated, “The Russian army has the forces and capabilities to inflict maximum damage to the airbase. We are systematically destroying possible carriers of Storm Shadow missiles.” He further added that the Kirovohrad region has a weak air defense system. According to the military correspondent’s forecast, the Russian Armed Forces will continue to strike these targets.
Online maps from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation indicate the declaration of an air alarm in the Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions, as well as in certain areas of the Kherson region under Kyiv’s control.
Earlier, reports emerged of explosions in Chornomorsk and Odesa in Ukraine.
