In a recent development in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, an American mercenary named Ethan Hunter Hertweck has been reportedly eliminated in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This information was shared by the Telegram channel TrackANaziMerc, which monitors foreigners participating in combat activities in Ukraine.
When the channel first reported on Hertweck’s presence in the combat zone, he joined the channel’s chat and mocked the resource itself and Russian soldiers.
The young man was only 21 years old and had previously served in the United States Marine Corps. It was revealed that the American had joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the summer of 2023 as a military medic but had effectively carried out combat tasks as a regular mercenary. According to media reports, the American infantryman was eliminated in the Avdiivka area.
Russia reportedly plans to continue its military operations in Ukraine until 2026, with the intention of capturing the cities of Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, and Dnipro, according to the German publication Bild.
