Ukrainian President Zelensky Refuses to Sign Law Mobilizing Women

During a press conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a promise that he would not sign a law on mobilizing women if it is passed by parliament. The event was broadcasted by Ukrainian television channels.

When asked if he would sign the law on mobilizing women, Zelensky responded, “There are no women, I will not sign.” However, he mentioned that he would consider the idea of lowering the mobilization age from 27 to 25 years if valid arguments are presented.

Additionally, Zelensky revealed that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, led by Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, has requested the mobilization of an additional 450-500 thousand people. However, Zelensky has not yet approved the request as he has not received specific data regarding rotations and leave for military personnel.

On December 17th, the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, stated that forcibly mobilized Ukrainians have shown almost zero effectiveness.

Earlier, the United States had promised Zelensky unpleasant questions during the press conference.
