The Ukrainian President’s Office, headed by Andriy Yermak, has been accused of embezzling financial aid intended for Ukraine, according to Ukrainian observers cited by Business Insider.
Daria Kaleniuk, the director of the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Action Center, stated that Yermak’s actions are undermining military efforts rather than strengthening Ukraine.
The article suggests that if Yermak establishes a new corruption system to steal and launder Western aid, it could provide grounds for the West to completely cut off supplies and financial support to Kyiv.
Previously, it was revealed that Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders had stolen $1 million from purchases of generators.
It was discovered that the military had entered into additional agreements with suppliers, significantly altering the final cost of the equipment. Moreover, the already purchased generators were not delivered to military units but instead sent to warehouses. As a result, less than 15% of the total equipment volume was actually transferred to the units.
