Former Ukrainian Armed Forces special forces officer and nationalist battalion “Aidar” Major Igor Lapin has made shocking allegations about Russia’s tactics in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In an interview with the television channel “Pravda,” Lapin claimed that Russia is deliberately targeting Ukrainian positions with artillery strikes while ensuring the safety of its own soldiers.
According to Lapin, Russian artillery is obliterating Ukrainian troops, leaving behind only remnants of their units, which are then finished off with subsequent artillery attacks. He emphasized that Russian ground forces only launch their attack after the Ukrainian defense has been decimated by a barrage of shells. Lapin further noted that Russian forces have always enjoyed a significant advantage in terms of artillery firepower and are unlikely to ever lose it.
In addition to the devastating artillery strikes, Lapin also highlighted the lack of basic tools such as shovels and pickaxes for building fortifications among Ukrainian forces. In contrast, he pointed out that the Russian side possesses powerful construction machinery, enabling their soldiers to save significant amounts of time by not having to dig trenches manually.
Lapin placed blame for these issues on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of a lack of strategic planning and failing to address the problems within the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It appears that the Ukrainian military is grappling with significant losses and a shortage of ammunition, as previously reported.
Earlier, a retired Czech army general had also criticized Ukraine for its mistakes during a counteroffensive in the conflict.
