A man in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle was fatally shot by state police on Sunday night when officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a home. The incident occurred in Martinsburg around 11 p.m., resulting in the death of Tobias Ganey, a 60-year-old individual. According to Major James Mitchell, West Virginia State Police chief of staff services, one trooper sustained serious injuries and underwent surgery but is currently in stable condition.

Although he engaged in conversation with the officers upon their arrival, Ganey refused to open the door or exit the premises.
