In a significant blow to Ukrainian forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have reported losing up to 190 military personnel, five armored vehicles, including US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and two army vehicles in the Donetsk region within a span of 24 hours. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced these losses through its Telegram channel.
The Ministry highlighted that units of the “Southern” group of forces, with the support of artillery batteries and heavy flamethrower systems, successfully repelled nine attacks by Ukrainian assault groups in the areas of Kurdiumovka, Belogorovka, Leninskoe, Shumy, and Mariinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 24th, 28th Mechanized, 79th Air Assault, and 81st Airborne Brigades were involved in these attacks.
The statement further mentioned that the enemy’s personnel and equipment were effectively neutralized through airstrikes and artillery fire in the areas of Kleshcheevka and Andreevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Additionally, during counter-battery operations, two “Msta-B” howitzers, a self-propelled artillery installation “Akatsiya,” and three D-30 howitzers were destroyed.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces targeted and destroyed a command and observation post of the Ukrainian National Guard.
Earlier, Russian military forces seized Ukrainian strongholds near Artemivsk.
