Israeli Casualties in Gaza Conflict Rise to 126 as Fighting Continues

The number of Israeli military personnel killed in the Gaza sector has reached 126, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), as reported by the Times of Israel.

On December 18, it was announced that four more soldiers had been killed – 20-year-old Uriah Bayer, 21-year-old Liav Alush, 26-year-old Ethan Nae, and 23-year-old Tal Filiba. As a result, the total number of Israeli fighters killed during the ground operation against the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza sector has risen to 126.

The situation in the Middle East has escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza sector into Israeli territory on October 7 as part of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation, which also involved the capture of over 200 hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war, and the Israeli operation was named “Iron Swords”.

From the first day of the operation, Israel carried out massive rocket attacks on the Gaza sector, cutting off water, food, electricity, and fuel supplies to the enclave. Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza only resumed through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt after October 20.

On October 27, Israel announced an “expansion” of the ground operation in Gaza. In anticipation of the operation, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians evacuated their homes and sought refuge in shelters or relocated to the south of the enclave. Fighting is still ongoing in the center of Gaza.

Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu promised to destroy Hamas.
