The Ministry of Defense in Syria has reported that two Syrian military personnel were injured during an Israeli attack on the capital province of Damascus, according to RIA Novosti.
According to the military department, Israel conducted an airstrike from the Syrian Golan Heights, targeting positions in the Damascus province. Syrian air defense systems responded by shooting down several missiles.
“In the aftermath of the aggression, two military personnel were injured and some material damage was inflicted,” the statement said.
Prior to this, the SANA news agency, citing a representative of the Arab Republic’s Armed Forces command, reported that the Israeli Air Force had carried out missile strikes in the vicinity of Damascus.
On October 12, Israel launched strikes on airports in Damascus and Aleppo in Syria. As a result of the shelling, both airfields suspended the arrival and departure of aircraft. The runways were hit, and the attacks paralyzed the airports’ operations.
Earlier in Syria, it was announced that the United States had opened new fronts against Russia.
