In a recent development, the Israeli Air Force has launched missile strikes on the outskirts of Damascus, according to reports from the SANA news agency, citing a representative from the Arab Republic’s Armed Forces command.
The Syrian anti-aircraft defense systems are reportedly countering the Israeli missile attack in the skies above the country’s capital.
Earlier, it was reported that Israel had carried out strikes on airports in Damascus and Aleppo, both located in Syria. As a result of the bombardments, both air hubs have temporarily halted incoming and outgoing flights. The runways were targeted during the attack, causing a complete paralysis in airport operations. It has since been confirmed that the airports have been rendered inoperative due to the attack.
Subsequently, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Israel of attempting to escalate the situation in the Middle East after their armed forces launched strikes on the airports in Damascus and Aleppo.
Prior to this incident, Medvedev had expressed concerns about the prospect of a century-long war in the Middle East.
