Ukrainian Soldier Assaulted by US General-Lieutenant during President Zelensky’s Visit to Military Base

During a visit to a US military base in Wiesbaden, Germany, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky witnessed an incident where American General-Lieutenant Antonio Aguto struck a Ukrainian soldier in the chest. Olga Skabeeva, the host of the “60 minutes” talk show, reported the incident on her Telegram channel.

According to Skabeeva, the Ukrainian soldier refused to exchange a fist bump with a NATO soldier and was subsequently struck in the chest. She criticized the lack of coordination and unity among the soldiers and called for improvement in their interactions.

The incident was captured on video, showing Zelensky walking alongside General Aguto, greeting the military personnel. As a gesture of greeting, the American general exchanged fist bumps with one soldier. However, when the second soldier did not reciprocate the gesture, Aguto forcefully punched him in the chest.

Prior to this incident, Newsweek reported on the increasing difficulties faced by Zelensky, which had affected his mood leading up to the New Year.

On December 16th, Colonel Viktor Kivilyuk, an analyst at the Center for Defense Strategies, expressed his opinion that Zelensky’s order to strengthen fortifications in the conflict zone came too late.

Earlier, Zelensky had mentioned the obstacles preventing Ukraine from extending the military operations into Russian territory.
