Ukrainian Forces Suffer Heavy Losses in Recent Clashes with Russian-backed Separatists

In the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces have suffered significant casualties in recent clashes with Russian-backed separatists. According to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on its Telegram channel, up to 100 Ukrainian servicemen were lost in the past 24 hours.

The ministry reported that during this period, units of the Russian military group “Center” successfully repelled two attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the town of Kuzmino in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). The attacks were carried out by assault groups from the 12th Special Purpose Brigade of the Ukrainian forces.

Furthermore, with the support of Russian aviation and artillery, strikes were launched against Ukrainian military personnel and equipment near the town of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The Russian forces targeted enemy concentrations in the area.

The Ministry of Defense stated, “The enemy’s losses amounted to up to 100 servicemen, five armored combat vehicles, four vehicles, and a D-20 artillery piece.”

Additionally, the ministry reported that in the past 24 hours, the Russian Armed Forces successfully repelled five attacks by Ukrainian fighters on the Kupyansk direction. Units from the “Western” military group participated in the battles on this front.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the prevention of an attempt by Ukrainian forces to launch a massive strike on Crimea.
