Russia Plans Seven Missile Launches in 2024, Continues Advancements in Missile Technology

The Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) of Russia are set to conduct seven missile launches in 2024, according to General-Colonel Sergey Karakayev, the commander of the SMF. In an interview with the newspaper “Krasnaya Zvezda,” Karakayev revealed the upcoming missile tests.

“We plan to conduct seven launches in 2024,” he said.

Karakayev also shared that over the past five years, the Russian Armed Forces have carried out more than 20 launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles as part of their training and testing of advanced missile systems.

Furthermore, he highlighted that before the deployment of the “Avangard” hypersonic combat unit, it underwent testing at the Yasny complex in the Orenburg region.

Previously, Karakayev had stated that the mobile SMF units would be equipped with hypersonic maneuvering warheads.

Shortly after his remarks, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a strategic missile forces regiment near Orenburg had received new “Avangard” missiles.

Earlier, the SMF successfully launched an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar range.
