Ukraine Faces Pressure from the West as Victory Becomes Elusive

Ukraine will have to reconsider what can be considered a “victory” due to pressure from the West, according to Czech newspaper Hospodarske noviny.

“The goal of political leadership now seems unattainable. In 2024, therefore, there will be a discussion about what can be considered a victory. Undoubtedly, Kiev will be under pressure from the West, which will demand that this new understanding of victory includes negotiations with Russia,” writes commentator Martin Egl.

The author notes that in addition to political failures and internal crisis, Ukraine is gradually suffering defeat on the battlefield. Egl claims that the main problems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) are heavy losses, a shortage of talented commanders, and the inability of Ukrainian soldiers to effectively use Western technology.

Prior to this, Russian military forces disrupted the rotation of the VSU in the Kupyansk direction.

Earlier, the United States identified one of the greatest threats to the VSU.
