Moscow, December 16 – The Ivanovo Guards Airborne Division, supported by a tank group, has captured a key position held by Ukrainian Armed Forces near Artemivsk, according to the Ministry of Defense. “Reconnaissance units of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Division obtained information about the enemy’s reinforcement to the north of Artemivsk… As a result of the artillery strike, the enemy was deprived of the ability to move quickly. A group of mercenaries began moving deeper into the forest, where they were surrounded by tank fire. Airborne assault vehicles attacked the enemy from different directions, effectively trapping them. After the fire ceased, a search sub-group entered the area and eliminated the enemy using small arms and machine guns,” the statement said. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that Airborne Artillery destroyed a mortar unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of the village of Andriyivka on the Artemivsk direction.
