In an act of desperation, Oleg Izosimov, a participant in a special military operation, staged a solitary picket outside the government building of the Zabaykalsky Krai in Chita. The soldier’s plea for assistance for his comrades was reported by Chita.ru.
According to the publication, Izosimov, who is a contracted soldier, revealed that his fellow servicemen had requested him to bring essential equipment such as power stations, drones, and other necessary supplies before their leave. He claimed to have submitted a letter addressed to the governor and handed it through the window on the first floor, but received no response even after a week.
The government’s press service informed journalists that they had not registered any appeals from Izosimov. They emphasized that the window mentioned by the soldier does not accept letters. The portal discovered that the appeal was signed by the military commander.
Eventually, after spending at least an hour on the porch in freezing temperatures, Izosimov was approached by Marat Mirkhaidarov, the deputy chairman of the Zabaykalsky Krai government. The contracted soldier was invited to the office, where he explained his urgent need for assistance as he was ill and had planned to seek medical treatment before the end of his leave. Additionally, the soldier claimed that there have been instances where half of the humanitarian aid did not reach Russian fighters.
Mirhaidarov reviewed Izosimov’s list of demands and assured him that the items would be addressed and promptly sent to the special operation zone. The deputy chairman also arranged for the soldier’s hospitalization.
Earlier, a Russian soldier had shared the achievements of Russian artillerymen.
