Belarus Conducts Surprise Air Defense Exercise Amidst Tensions

Belarus has initiated an unexpected inspection of its air defense forces and units, including the Air Force and Air Defense troops. The Ministry of Defense of the country announced this in a statement on their Telegram channel.

Units equipped with portable anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) and radio-technical troops have been deployed to designated areas to carry out combat tasks, according to the ministry.

It was emphasized that the exercises involve the use of the S-300 and S-400 air defense missile systems, as well as radar complexes for detecting low-flying objects, such as the “Rosa-RB.”

“The personnel will be required to perform tasks related to the detection and conditional destruction of simulated targets,” the Ministry of Defense stated.

In November, it was reported that a Polish light aircraft had violated Belarusian airspace.

Furthermore, in late September, a Polish military helicopter violated Belarusian airspace twice within 24 hours.

Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko referred to nuclear weapons as a guarantee of security in the region.
