Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Approves Procedure for Suppression and Destruction of Drones

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an order approving the procedure for making decisions on the suppression and destruction of all types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to a report by TASS.

The document specifies the police officials who are authorized to make such decisions. These include the Minister of Internal Affairs, his deputies, the heads of the central apparatus of the department, as well as the heads of territorial bodies, their deputies, and others.

UAVs will be suppressed or destroyed in order to protect the lives, health, and property of citizens, as well as law enforcement officers, including during mass events.

According to the rules, UAVs can be shot down by “suppressing or altering remote control signals, affecting control panels, damaging or destroying them,” as stated in the order.

It is noted that the responsible person making the decision on these actions must assess the nature and degree of danger and take into account the information received from the Unified Air Traffic Management System of the Russian Federation regarding the use of UAVs in airspace.

On December 9, it was reported that almost all VSU kamikaze drones in the area of Artemovsk do not reach their target.

Earlier, the commander of VSU stated that Russia has an advantage in the use of FPV drones.
