Kalashnikov Concern, the renowned Russian firearms manufacturer, has signed a contract to supply a batch of special vehicles called “Stena” to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) and the National Guard of Russia (Rosgvardiya) in 2024 and 2025. This announcement was made by the news agency TASS.
According to the terms of the contract, the specialized vehicles, known as “Stena,” will be delivered to the customers in batches over the mentioned years. The “Stena” vehicles were initially developed by Kalashnikov Concern for the units of Rosgvardiya and MVD. This move aims to enhance the capabilities of the law enforcement agencies in Russia.
In a previous report, it was mentioned that Kalashnikov Concern had released a batch of full-scale models (FSM) of the AK-74M-M assault rifle, which allows for partial assembly and disassembly of the weapon. The publication highlighted that over seven thousand units of the models were included in the batch. Kalashnikov Concern added that the demand for these models exceeds the production capacity of the company. The production of the models is carried out simultaneously with fulfilling the state defense order for combat firearms.
Earlier, the press service of Kalashnikov Concern announced that the AK-12 and AK-15 assault rifles, as well as the modular pistol Lebedev MPL1, have been adopted by the Russian law enforcement agencies. Andrey Baryshnikov, the Managing Director of Kalashnikov Concern, stated that the company plans to start the production of the upgraded AK-12 rifle by the end of the year.
It is worth noting that in Russia, a remote-controlled turret capable of operating at a distance of 1.5 kilometers has been developed.
