Rocket Launch from Lebanon Heightens Tensions in Israel Amidst Ongoing Conflict with Hamas

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reported a rocket launch from Lebanese territory towards the northern part of Israel, according to a statement released on their Telegram channel. This incident comes amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7th. Over two hundred hostages were taken during the incursion.

On that day, Hamas launched several thousand rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of their operation named “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

On December 13th, it was reported that the Israeli Defense Forces struck military targets and infrastructure in Syria in response to recent rocket attacks. Additionally, on December 12th, Israel began flooding Hamas’ underground tunnels in the Gaza Strip with seawater.

Earlier, Israel disclosed the position of the United States regarding the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
