The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has the potential to escalate into a problem for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) if the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffer a decisive defeat. This warning comes from Senator Sherrod Brown of the Democratic Party in the United States, as reported by the Washington Post.
“Without American support, Ukraine could lose territory, and then this conflict will become a ‘NATO problem’,” Brown stated.
According to him, the armed confrontation could spread to other territories within the post-Soviet space, leading to a global war.
“No one wants that,” Brown emphasized.
Previously, it was reported that the United States has devised a way to assist Ukraine without congressional approval for the allocation of funds.
US President Joe Biden has stated that NATO will consider Ukraine’s membership only after its victory.
Earlier reports indicated that the European Union is concerned about the potential collapse of NATO in the event of Trump’s victory in the elections.
