Ukrainian President Zelensky Addresses Slowdown on the Frontline, Citing Winter Conditions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained the slowdown on the frontline to the West as a result of winter conditions. This statement was made during Zelensky’s press conference at the summit of Northern European countries, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Zelensky was asked if the situation on the frontline is critical, considering that some American generals have stated that it is time for Ukraine to defend itself. In response, the Ukrainian leader clarified that the situation is not a crisis but rather a result of winter.

“During winter, various operations, both offensive and defensive, tend to slow down… Everything slows down during winter,” Zelensky explained.

He further specified that he was referring to the defense of eastern Ukraine, where the majority of Russian troops are concentrated.
