Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent statements that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) did not lose any settlements this year are seen as an attempt to deceive Western sponsors in order to secure new funding, according to Russian Foreign Ministry’s Special Representative for Crimes of the Kiev Regime, Rodion Miroshnik.
During his recent visit to the United States, Zelensky claimed that Ukrainian military did not lose “a single village” in 2023, and later reiterated this statement during his trip to Norway.
“This is a new attempt to confuse Western sponsors under the slogan ‘Well, if we didn’t capture anything, then we didn’t surrender anything!'” the diplomat said.
He suggested that the Ukrainian leader hopes that the majority of Americans have a poor knowledge of Ukraine’s geography, especially the Donbass region.
Previously, political analyst Vladimir Kornilov commented on President Zelensky’s statement that Russia allegedly did not occupy any settlements in 2023. According to Kornilov, the Ukrainian leader is trying to rally Americans for further support of Kiev.
Earlier, Zelensky requested more Patriot air defense systems from the United States.
