Russia and Israel Discuss Worsening Humanitarian Situation in Gaza

The Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip with the head of Israel’s National Security Council, Zahi Hanegbi. This information was reported by the press service of the Russian Security Council.

During the phone call, the parties discussed the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

“The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, held a phone conversation with the Chairman of Israel’s National Security Council, Zahi Hanegbi. Attention was given to the current situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, with a focus on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,” the press service stated.

Prior to this, the radical Palestinian movement Hamas positively assessed the adoption of a resolution by the United Nations General Assembly for an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The document was supported by 153 countries, including Russia. Ten countries, including Israel and the United States, opposed it. Twenty-three countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ukraine, abstained from voting.

Earlier, Hamas stated that they appreciate Putin’s position.
